How to allow less secure apps in Gmail
Google started discouraging the use of less secure apps for security reasons. To protect your Gmail account, it's best not to allow less secure apps access. However, if you need to use a less secure app, you can follow these steps to enable access, though it's not recommended:
1.Sign In to Your Gmail Account:
Go to Gmail and log in to the Google account you want to enable less secure apps for.
2.Access Account Settings:
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "Google Account."
3.Navigate to Security:
In the Google Account settings, click on "Security" in the left sidebar.
4.Scroll Down to "Less secure app access":
Under the "Signing in to Google" section, you'll find "Less secure app access." Click on it.
5.Enable Less Secure Apps:
You will see a toggle switch for "Allow less secure apps." Click the switch to turn it on.
Please note that allowing less secure apps is not recommended because it can potentially compromise the security of your Google account. Google encourages users to use more secure methods like OAuth 2.0 for app integrations. If possible, look for alternative apps or services that use secure authentication methods. If you enable less secure apps, be extra cautious about the apps you connect to your Gmail account and consider disabling this feature when it's no longer needed.
Keep in mind that Google's policies and settings may change over time, so it's a good idea to check Google's official documentation or the most up-to-date settings for any changes or additional security recommendations.
